Disussions on Ayudha Pooja

Here is the summary of discussions held with my friends, last year, who protested the celebrations of Ayudha pooja in government institutions & offices.
Ayudha Pooja is not the pooja of Weapons as misunderstood by most of the people. There is no proper explanation available even in Sanskrit till the date for the word Ayudha and relating it to weapons used by Devi during war with Asuras. It was the result of a serious study of these rituals by my group with some Rishis. That at-least gave an insight that what actually is meant by Ayudha.

Ayudha is nothing but the the one which supports daily needs of a man. Your Vehicle, Computer, Cell Phone, etc are all Ayudhas. We are not robots, we do have feelings, respect, love & mainly gratitude towards each and every element that supports us to lead life.. Its a ceremony not only celebrated in India, but all over the World by most of the agriculturists.. They wont call by the name that we do, but the intention is the same.

At least for a day we give the same honor as we give respect to the God/Elders/Parents/Friends. Everything in this world follows some form of basic instinct, it may be innermost particle of an Anu, an innermost particle of a gene, or a rule that is accepted as good and followed by all... This is the Dharma!! There is no independent existence of the word Secular. If you say you are opposing the Caste system then I am also with you.. After all these castes are boosted up by foreign invaders to establish their power and trumped by the politicians for Vote Banking.

First try to understand the effort of the Sages who did enormous research on every part of our life, from lakhs of years and gave us the path to lead HUMAN LIFE.. Then oppose, because these works are not just like our international Journals, where any body can twig some parameters, copy paste something publish it and accepted as a greatest work of the decade!! Those who did in-depth study of these highly technical literature surely know how much flaw it has. Off course Newton's & Darwin's laws are also failed in some cases.. But our Vedas never ever fail.

Anando Brahma. Nothing is static, every Sutra of Vastu-Jeeva-Jada-Mishra supports dynamic view as Ananda is the basic spandana which will be always active. The Parikara Vijnana takes 9+1 ways to understand the Vastu (material) Parinaama. They are - Uddesha, Saaphalyataa, Runa, Shakti, Vyavahruta, Moola, Dravya, Dhaatu, Parivartanaa, Kshiti (Savakali).

Drig-Gochara = 364+1+1 = 366
ParinaamaGochara = 84
Pravartana-Gochara = 432 = Vishnu
432-400 = 32.
* ›4 Formulas x 100 nourishments = 400. E.g., Unripen->Ripen, Milk->Ghee, Child->Old, …
32-30 = 2 = Food & Knowledge.
3 = Satwa, Raja, Tama Gunas x 10 fold growth = 30
Guna Gochara = 108 (Astottara-Shatanaama)
Vidhi-Niyama/Kalaas = 64.

Totally there are 1054 different ways in which spiritual aspirant can understand the interactions of Chetana in Prakruti. Ayudha-Pooja is one of the ways to understand the same and provide (Dhaa) longevity (Ayu) to the materials. It has Vedaadhaara which is the Sarvaadhaara of all the Shaastras. The 24 Karma Samucchayas, 32 Jnana Samucchayas & 64 Tantra Samucchayas certainly gave the ways to do Pooja to any Parikara to get its knowledge.

Pooja is the experimental way to understand the Tatwa of any Vichaara. The Vichaara may be of Vastu, Jeeva, Jada, Mishra, So with Ayudhaa Poorvikaas have included Ayudhaa-Gaja-Ashwaadi Pooja. Also note that Ayudha is not a Weapon, but a Shastra is! Ayudha provides longevity. Chandika Devi holds Ayudha, which is for the protection sake, but not for the war sake. Devi didn't killed any Asura, all of them died themselves due to different reasons & in several ways. In fact if one examines Devi Saptashati thoroughly, can understand the Krupa of Devi helping Asuras to get transformed & protecting them also. But Madonmaatta, Udrikta, Bhramaadheena Asuraas went to fight devi & they died themselves in several ways. None of the Ayudhaas of Devi became Shastraas in Saptashati. This was narrated to me by an Upaasaka who had attained Chandika Saakshaatkaara.

What's happening with us is just reading the first page of Wiki & accepting it as ultimate truth. Come out of web and try to see, listen, feel, taste, smell, concentrate, coordinate with NATURE. There is the root of all our celebrations. At least try first to understand your own festivals and respect festivals from other community.  Celebrating ones own festivals, never hampers others feeling, unless one is commenting or blaming the others rituals.

Some people argue that these kinds of rituals shouldn't be celebrated public, institutions, government offices. This is against social concern & beliefs. Don't put quote the Articles from Constitution. As of June 2009, there have been 94 amendments of the Constitution of India since it was first enacted in 1950. One has to understand this. Now also new ammendments are ready to be passed. Also there are bills, judgements, Gazettere etc., which are not so easy. These rules  are modernized just because once you have a principled way to lead a life there will be people who want to violate it. So the new rules emerge by their cunning acts. They are just following the principles laid by Mountbatten.

Other view of these amendments is that our Constitution is far from perfect. But I am proud to declare that "Manu Dharma Sutra" has been practiced in India from 20,000 years without new ammendments.

Next view about Law & Order is, are we following it strictly. Have you never done or supported Brastachara directly or indirectly? Not at all possible.

My knowledge of law, however limited, tells me that a caste column would violate the basic structure of the constitution. The preamble says that the people resolve to constitute India into a “sovereign
socialist democratic republic”. the Keshvanand Bharti case, the supreme court has said that objectives in the preamble contain the basic structure of the constitution which cannot be amended by the power that parliament exercises. Src:

Allocating quotas is a form of discrimination which is contrary to the right to equality. We know that there are many types of reservations in even academic field. Then where is Secularism? Then the caste system; About Brahmin:
"janmanaa jayate shudrah - One is a Shudra by birth
samskaaraad dvija ucyate - By observing Samskaras one becomes a Dvija (twice-born)
vedapaaThi bhaved viprah - By studying the Vedas one becomes a Vipra (inspired)
brahma janati brahmanah - One who knows Brahman (Or call it Elah, Allah, Jesus, Alpha & Omega, WaheGuru, Arhan, Buddha, Karma, Digit, Atom, Gene, A great Teacher etc.,)  is a Brahmana
There was a comment that a priest comes to the department to do Pooja. Why the priest required? Priest can be considered as an highly qualified professional in technology is given higher posts and whatever we are now & will be because of their enormous knowledge, skills & efforts. Its all  the matter of Relevancy. The priest does some rituals in front of the picture of a goddes, why? Again, we type using the keyboard attached to the CPU to get display on the screen. If I beat the drums & expect display on screen? Switch on the Sports channel & expect a movie? Having Airtel Sim will connect to Airtel Network.. How can one expect BSNL Signal reception from it? So if you are qualified enough to work with god level signals, no other intermediate person required, else having a priest is always recommended. See the post "Who is Purohita?" for more details.

Its a commitment in the society that one sect of people will entirely study these Vedic rituals and guide the society in achieving the goodness of the same. The second sect is the Administration who rule the country. Third part of people are agriculturists & Businessmen who produce, circulate and manage the food and physically helping us to survive. Fourth part is the normal worker (Karmik) who is the backbone of all the processes of all the above 3 groups. This was called as Varna, not the caste what we see now.

This model was working fine from lakhs of years. From more than 800 years, the foreign agencies planned to establish their Kingdom in Bharath. Cunningly started imparting the poisonous seed to break our unity of team working in the name of Varnas. At that time, this Grama Swaraj based society unknowingly started consuming the grains fruited from those seed. Then started quarreling among themselves and opened a channel for disease from external agencies. Its effect is now what you can see, like Corruption, Illiteracy, Poverty, Caste-ism, unemployment, pollution, etc., To boost it further after Indian independence, corrupt British historians twisted the whole Indian history and literature. Some youngsters read that, compare the existing crisis and emerge as rebels, revolts, terrorists. But no one is looking to the root cause for these and repairing at fundamental level. Its not because of they don't know it, they don't want it to happen. As they may lose the control over the people, if people become highly knowledgeable.

A quick step is to revise the whole education system with respect to Indian context. China is succeeding because they respect their literature, knowledge and language and work hard. They are working solely in their Chinese language and producing good research works. But we are just leaving all our enormous Vedic Knowledge and surrendering our self to Computers.

Each have their own work to do. It is highly appreciable that to be called as "Sarvajna" one should possess all the skills from all these groups (Varnas). But its far from possible. So to become master in at-least their own chosen path, one has to study it severely and practice it to gain experience and service in it. So, what the elders thought is lets have an harmony in the society by having the experts from their own domain and for any event or work to be done, lets all work as a team and achieve the goal. It was the situation in the period what we call as "Vedic Age". This is in support to the concept of "Gram Swarajya", a dream of Gandhiji also.
How can just a prayer like "Oh god, protect my machinery and equipments" can help to achieve the same ? Did you thought of this, had you done severe analysis on this? I say that just a prayer as above is not at all fruitful. But there is a way how that prayer can be success in its motto. That is like an highly scientific experiment conducted in laboratory. Its called as "POOJA". Have you ever tried to analyze why more than 95% of Indians do these poojas and have a high faith on it. How many different types of variations are there in each pooja and across the region and depending on goal. Some things are fixed by the experience of the people. Some other poojas have to be cultivated by lot of experimentation. In-depth science is there in all of these, which is our own Indian ancestral treasure of Knowledge. Countable people are digging these knowledge at higher than Post Doctoral level (Snaatakootara). So rather than fishing in the muddy water (Foreign based Education & Texts) on the road, try to fish in Ocean (Vedic Texts), you will get a fish named knowledge according to your own effort and acceptance level.

We have answers in just godly & religious manner. We believe that we are the Son/Dauhter of the our parents and don't go to a DNA Verification. Its all belief, so god is a belief. But when the situation becomes worst, god will come in the form of NARASHIMA or DEVI with numerous hands to show his existance. Its a trend that everything nowadays are explained in a scientific manner. Else the "Rationalists" question it.

1.4.7. Education for Value Development -

"Th past five decades after independence have witnessed constant erosion of the essential social, moral and spiritual values and an increase in cynicism at all levels........... People must realise who they are and what is the ultimate purpose of human life. Self-recognition would come to them through proper value education that would facilitate their spiritual march from the level of subconsciousness to that of super consciousness through the different intermediary stages. Value-based education would help the nation fight against all kinds of fanaticism, ill will, violence, fatalism, dishonesty, avarice, corruption, exploitation and drug abuse.................

These five universal values represent the five domains of the human personality—intellectual, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual—are “correlated with the five major objectives of education, namely knowledge, skill, balance, vision and identity.” (81st Report on Value-Based Education presented to Rajya Sabha on 26th February, 1999, Item No.8).............
[All can refer original proceedings for more detail]

From the aforesaid entire paragraph the learned counsel for the petitioners vehemently objected only to the following part “what is required today is not religious education but education about religions, their basics, the values inherent therein and also comparative study of the philosophy of all religions.”

S.B. Chavan Committee’s report appointed by the Parliament in 1996

1. ............... Our young generation under the growing influence of negative aspects of Western culture, is stranded on the cross-roads, not able to decide which direction to take.

6. ................. It was generally felt that ours is a vast and diverse ancient country historically, geographically and socially. Traditions are different, the ways of thinking and living are also different. But there are certain common elements which unite the country in its diversity. This  country has a long tradition. Here from ancient times, there have been great saints and thinkers from
different religions and sects who have talked about some eternal values. These values are to be inculcated by our young generation.

7. In ancient times in Gurukuls, emphasis used to be primarily on building the character of a student. Today, right from the schools up to the professional colleges, emphasis is on acquiring techniques and not values. We seem to have forgotten that skills acquired on computers tend to become outdated after sometime but values remain for ever.

8. Truth (Satya), Righteous Conduct (Dharma), Peace (Shanti), Love (Prema) and Non-violence (Ahimsa) are the core universal values which can be identified as the foundation stone on which the value-based education programme can be built up.

13. Another aspect that must be given some thought is religion, which is the most misused and misunderstood concept. The process of making the students acquainted with the basics of all religions, the values inherent therein and also a comparative study of the philosophy of all religions should begin at the middle stage in schools and continue up to the university level. Students have to be made aware that the basic concept behind every religion is common, only the practices differ. Even if there are differences of opinion in certain areas, people have to learn to co-exist and carry no hatred against any religion.

38. With the advancement in information technology, audio-visual media has dominated the information/ knowledge system of our country. Under the invasion of Western culture penetrating into India through the media, the young are being literally moved away from our age-old traditions and values. Any attempt to instil indigenous values in students in schools, colleges are over-shadowed by the over-whelming impact of Western culture.

Further, it appears to be totally wrong presumption and contention that knowledge of different religions would bring disharmony in the society.

Santosh Kumar and others v. Secretary, Ministry of Human Resources Development and another [(1994) 6SCC 579] para 147 ........... a secular State is not hostile to religion but holds itself neutral in
matters of religion.

Santosh Kumar’s case (Supra)
D. Regarding Hindu Festivals being treated as National Festivals -- “Schools may organise joint celebration of festivals of major religions and cultural groups. This would generate better understanding of and appreciation and respect for one another and create a tolerant and cohesive society.”

(Original Civil Jurisdiction)
Excerpts of Judgement copy by D. M. DHARMADHIKARI. J.

What is sought to be imparted in education system is:

Article 51(A)(e), which provides “to promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities; to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women” And to see that universal values, such as truth, righteous conduct, peace, love and non-violence be the foundation of education.

The essence of secularism is non-discrimination of people by the State on the basis of religious differences. ‘Secularism’ can be practiced by adopting a complete neutral approach towards religions or by a positive approach by making one section of religious people to understand and respect religion and faith of another section of people. Based on such mutual understanding and respect for each other’s religious faith, mutual distrust and intolerance can gradually be eliminated.

The real meaning of secularism in the language of Gandhiji is Sarva-Dharma-Samabhav meaning equal treatment and respect for all religions, but we have misunderstood the meaning of secularism as Sarva-Dharma-Sam-Abhav meaning negation of all religions. He has very strongly recommended that the essence of various religions, which he published in book forms like Quran Saar, KhistaDharma-Saar, Bhagwat Dharma-Saar, Manushasanam etc.,

Article 28 (1), therefore, does not prohibit introduction of study of religions in the State educational institutions including those wholly or partly aided by the States.

Democracy cannot survive and Constitution cannot work unless Indian citizens are not only learned and intelligent, but they are also of moral character and imbibe the inherent virtues of human-being such as truth, love and compassion.

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Ex. P.M., Dr. S. Radhakrishnan and Dr. Zakir Hussain, Ex-Presidents of India were also strongly of the view that in the march of human philosophy only science and spirituality will be the two greatest primary forces which will keep human-beings in best state of existence.

The words in preamble SOVEREIGN, SOCIALIST, *SECULAR*, DEMOCRATIC, REPUBLIC and to SECURE all; are very great words to say, but nobody follows them. All follow the preachings of their elders with respect to their culture & Religion. Any of these cannot be achieved by a Rule written in a Book named Constitution. But Sanathan Dharma in India is successful!! After all during the framing of Constitution these words were chosen based on our literature itself. Just by the concept of PAPA + PUNYA the people are leading life.. Its the basic instinct that keeps man a HUMAN.
